Primary job of judge is to find solutions, not judgments: Justice Patel

Justice Gautam Patel, retiring from the Bombay High Court, stressed a judge's key role in seeking solutions over writing judgments. He emphasised that not every case needs a formal judgment but rather intervention for resolution. "Sometimes, judgments become a problem rather than a solution," he noted, adding, "For me, writing judgments is torture. I never know whether it's good enough."
